Bluetooth SIGは、Bluetooth 4.0向けに新ブランドとして「Bluetooth Smart Ready」及び「Bluetooth Smart」を発表しました。
新ブランドの特徴
■Bluetooth Smart Ready
低消費電力に対応したBluetooth Low Energyに対応。 Bluetooth Low EnergyはこれまでのBluetoothとの互換性は無い。
■Bluetooth Smart
Bluetooth Smart Readyに対応した製品のみ対応。
■Bluetooth（従来）
Bluetooth Smart Readyと無印Bluetoothのみ対応。 Bluetooth Smartとの互換性は無い。
ちなみにBluetooth Low Energyに対応した製品はカシオ計算機製のG-SHOCK GB-6900があります。
